10 Disappointing WrestleMania Matches That Should Have Been Classics

3. Rey Mysterio Vs. Eddie Guerrero – WrestleMania 21

The two had had several phenomenal matches on pay-per-view in the past, the best of which was their stunner at WCW Halloween Havoc in 1997. That night, with Rey’s mask and Eddie’s Cruiserweight Title on the line, everything went right. Since then they had been trying to match it and, although their matches were invariably good if not great, they didn’t come close to doing it.
Many predicted the two would have their career-defining match at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. Although they’d both had serious injuries and there were more miles on the clock since 97, the two were older and wiser wrestlers. Eddie, in particular, was on top of his game at that time. In the weeks leading up to the show the two men promised to steal the show to fans on television and to the boys in the back.
